Activities To Educate.

Projects On-Going

  1. Expand and further develop the website.
  2. Promote educational use of website in meetings with BOCC (Citrus County), Cities of Crystal River and Inverness, Basin Boards, High Schools and Colleges of Citrus County, KBWG education sub committee, Restoration Council Task Force, Stakeholders Conference and local media.

Projects Completed

  1. Design form and function of the Foundation website as a learning and teaching aid – completed.
  2. Design and program responsive glossary feature - completed.
  3. Design and construct pages for Features: Estuaries, Seagrass Meadows, Aquifer, Coastal Rivers, Inland Waters, Wetlands, Watersheds, Springsheds, Urbanization, Natural Cycles, Aquatic Plants, Algae - completed.
  4. Expand glossary database to cover all Education Section pages, (structured system, PHP code) - completed.
  5. Extend glossary feature (auto-index) into all Education Section pages - completed.

Projects for Funding upon Board Approval

  1. Research and add Homosassa River to Coastal Rivers section,
  2. Research and add Chassahowitzka River to Coastal Rivers section,
  3. Add Resources Section, to include master index, to facilitate lesson planning,
  4. Facilitate replication to other Florida counties,
  5. Provide indexed peer-reviewed biblography database to Resources page,
  6. Provide teacher networking feature to Resources page, with access via password as adjunct to Contact Us for registered teachers using the website.
  7. Calculate the economic and social dollar value of each of the coastal river ecosytems to the community of Citrus County, expressed in terms of value functions assigned to them.
